Expression of adhesion molecules in pagetoid reticulosis

چکیده
Cell adhesion molecules play a critical role in lymphocyte migration and homing. They convey tissue-specific homing properties to lymphocyte subsets and regulate the positioning of these subsets in the body. In a patient with pagetoid reticulosis, a rare form of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma characterized by extreme epitheliotropism, we examined the expression of adhesion molecules. The neoplastic T lymphocytes showed a strong expression of cutaneous lymphocyte antigen, a skinhoming receptor which interacts with E-selectin on skin endothelium. ab7, an adhesion molecule interacting with E-cadherin on epithelial cells, was also expressed on tumour cells. These findings suggest that adhesion molecules are responsible for the unique growth pattern in pagetoid reticulosis, and for the clinical behaviour of the disorder.

Pagetoid Reticulosis: Report of Two Cases and Review of the Literature
Pagetoid reticulosis is a rare variant of mycosis fungoides that presents with a large, usually single, erythematous, slowly growing scaly plaque containing an intraepidermal proliferation of neoplastic T lymphocytes. Histopathologically, this disease has distinctive attributes. In this report, we present two cases of pagetoid reticulosis, compare its microscopic features to those of 'classical...

Solitary pagetoid reticulosis, also known as Woringer-Kolopp disease, is a rare subtype of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. The typical clinical presentation is a solitary, localized psoriasiform or hyperkeratotic plaque or tumor located on the extremities. It primarily affects middle-aged males. Because the clinical features of pagetoid reticulosis are indistinctive, pagetoid reticulosis may progres...

Pagetoid reticulosis, also known as Woringer-Kolopp disease, is a rare variant of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma usually presenting as an isolated patch or plaque on the extremities. Immunohistochemical staining of T-cell markers can be variable, but as the name implies the epidermotropic lymphocytes consistently display a "pagetoid" appearance. The following case demonstrates clearance of this cond...

Pagetoid reticulosis (PR) is a low-grade primary cutaneous T-cell lymphoma that usually presents as a solitary, slowly enlarging erythematous or hyperkeratotic plaque on the distal areas of the extremities. Histopathologically, it is characterized by a dense, band-like infiltrate of atypical lymphocytes with prominent epidermotropism within a hyperplastic epidermis, and immunophenotypic studies...
متن کاملPagetoid reticulosis Woringer-Kolopp type, a particular variant of mycosis fungoides: a case report.
According to the definition of WHO, pagetoid reticulosis (PR) is characterized by the presence of unique skin lesion in the shape of patches or plaques caused by the proliferation of atypical T-cells in epidermis. We report the case of a 50-year-old female, presenting a 50×65 mm erythematous scaly patch, well-defined, slightly infiltrated, discrete polycyclic, on the right buttock, which appear...
